Nordex Books 1.87 GW in Q1 Orders as Average Price Rises

Nordex SE reported 1,869 megawatts of order intake in its Projects segment for the first quarter of 2026, a decline from 2,182 megawatts in the same quarter a year earlier. The wind turbine maker recorded a higher average sales price of 0.91 million euros per megawatt, up from 0.87 million euros per megawatt in Q1 2025. During the period, the company received orders for 292 turbines across 13 countries, with Germany, Türkiye and Sweden the largest individual markets. Management described the start of the year as robust and flagged a healthy order pipeline in Europe and North America.

Key Points

  • Nordex recorded 1,869 megawatts of Projects order intake in Q1 2026, down from 2,182 megawatts in Q1 2025 - impacts the wind power and renewable manufacturing sectors.
  • Average sales price rose to 0.91 million euros per megawatt from 0.87 million euros per megawatt, driven by project scope and regional mix - relevant for project economics and turbine pricing.
  • Orders comprised 292 turbines across 13 countries, with Germany, Türkiye and Sweden the strongest markets - highlights regional demand dynamics in Europe and nearby markets.

Nordex SE reported an order intake of 1,869 megawatts in its Projects segment for the first quarter of 2026, the company said on Tuesday. That total compares with 2,182 megawatts recorded in the same period a year earlier, representing a year-on-year decline in capacity booked.

The manufacturer recorded an increase in its average sales price, which rose to 0.91 million euros per megawatt of capacity in Q1 2026, compared with 0.87 million euros per megawatt in the first quarter of 2025. The company attributed the uptick in average pricing to effects from project scope and the regional mix of orders.

Across the January-to-March quarter, Nordex secured orders for 292 wind turbines destined for projects in 13 different countries. Germany, Türkiye and Sweden were identified as the strongest single-country markets for the period.

Commenting on the quarter, José Luis Blanco, CEO of the Nordex Group, said the company experienced a solid start to the year, noting an order intake of around 1.9 GW that was in line with expectations. He pointed to a continued healthy order pipeline in Europe and North America and reiterated confidence in the expected order momentum for the full year.

The company’s reported figures show a mixed picture: a reduction in megawatts ordered compared with the prior-year quarter, but a modest improvement in realized average sales price per megawatt. The geographic spread of the 292 turbines booked in Q1 spans 13 countries, with three markets standing out by volume.

Nordex’s commentary highlights reliance on an active pipeline in key regions to support the company’s full-year objectives. The combination of a lower order volume versus the prior-year quarter and higher average pricing driven by project-specific and regional factors frames the company’s Q1 performance.

Contextual note - The information above is limited to the figures and statements provided by the company for the first quarter of 2026. No additional projections, external data or historical context beyond the reported comparatives are included.

Risks

  • Order intake declined year-on-year from 2,182 MW to 1,869 MW in Q1, introducing uncertainty for short-term capacity deployment and revenues - impacts renewable energy and turbine manufacturers.
  • Nordex’s confidence in full-year momentum depends on a healthy order pipeline in Europe and North America; any slowdown in those pipelines could affect the company’s outlook - impacts regional energy markets and equipment suppliers.
  • Average sales price is influenced by project scope and regional mix; variability in these factors could lead to fluctuations in realized pricing and margins - impacts project developers and turbine manufacturers.
