Market context and summary

The close left the WIG30 modestly higher, reflecting sector-specific strength in technology, banking and media names, while energy and selected consumer stocks weighed on the index. Commodity price moves — particularly in crude and Brent oil — and modest currency appreciation versus the zloty were notable cross-market developments.

Risks

  • Sharp declines in oil prices - as crude and Brent fell by 6.74% and 5.78% respectively - may increase volatility for energy-related stocks and the broader market.
  • Notable single-stock weakness, such as Zabka Group's 9.57% drop, could pressure sector-specific indices and investor sentiment in consumer names.
  • Currency moves with EUR/PLN up 0.26% and USD/PLN up 0.20% introduce FX-related risk for exporters and importers exposed to the zloty.
