Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd (TW:1589) declined 9.92%, or 0.61 points, to end the session at 5.54. United Integrated Services Co Ltd (TW:2404) slipped 9.78%, down 135.00 points to 1,245.00 at the close.

Market breadth was reported in an unusual form: "Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0."

Notable one-day record moves were recorded for a few companies. Shares of Rectron Ltd (TW:2302) rose to all time highs, increasing 10.00% or 3.80 to close at 41.80. Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399) also climbed to all time highs, up 10.00% or 4.80 to finish at 52.80. Conversely, shares of Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd (TW:1589) fell to all time lows, down 9.92% or 0.61 to 5.54.


Commodities moved lower during the session. Crude oil for July delivery fell 2.64%, down 2.03 to $74.76 a barrel. Brent oil for August delivery dropped 2.34%, or 1.86, to $77.69 a barrel. The August Gold Futures contract was down 1.18%, falling 51.55 to trade at $4,329.85 a troy ounce.

Currency and index measures recorded modest changes. USD/TWD was down 0.23% to 31.59, while TWD/CNY was unchanged at 0.33% to 0.21. The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 100.08.
