Meta Platforms on Tuesday unveiled Meta One, a subscription platform intended to bring expanded AI functionality and new features to its suite of social apps, including Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. During its staggered introduction, the company said Meta One has already accrued 15 million subscriptions and trials.
The offering comprises more than 50 features spanning content creation, audience engagement and business management across Meta’s properties. Meta provided pricing details for monthly plans: single-product subscriptions starting at $2.99, individual bundles priced at $7.99, and creator and business bundles available for $14.99 per month.
Meta described the single-product options as app-specific enhancements - examples include WhatsApp Plus and Instagram Plus - while the individual bundles pair those app upgrades with advanced AI capabilities. For creators and commercial users, the company outlined professional-level tools in the higher-tier bundles, citing services such as verification, advanced analytics and enhanced support across its social media platforms.
Meta positioned the subscriptions as a means to diversify revenue beyond the digital advertising market. The company highlighted the scale of its audience, noting it averaged 3.60 billion daily active people across its family of apps earlier this year, and said the new paid offerings are intended to generate additional income from that user base.
Meta emphasized that the basic functions of its core apps and standard use of Meta AI will remain available at no cost. In a blog post, the company said: "We’ll continue to add features and agent skills built to help small businesses and creators with end-to-end marketing, business operations, content creation, and optimization."
Meta also said Meta One will expand to include Edits and its AI glasses in the near future.
Context and implications
The newly announced subscription tiers are structured to address a range of users - from individuals seeking enhanced app experiences to creators and businesses requiring professional support and analytics. By offering both app-specific upgrades and AI-powered bundles, Meta aims to capture revenue outside of advertising while keeping basic access free for the broader user base.
