Key Points

  • Life360 users can request Uber rides to a family member's real-time location with pickup details sent to the Uber app.
  • Trip progress is trackable on either the Life360 map or the Uber app, showing rides alongside family member locations.
  • The integration launched in select markets on June 18, 2026, and is available on both iOS and Android, touching family-focused tech and rideshare markets.

Life360 Inc announced an expanded strategic partnership with Uber Technologies that embeds Uber ride requests and live trip tracking into the Life360 mobile experience. Following the announcement, Life360 shares rose 1.7% on Thursday.

Under the integration, Life360 members can initiate an Uber ride to a family member's real-time location from within the Life360 app. When a ride is requested, pickup details are automatically forwarded to the Uber app so a driver can be matched and navigation initiated without the user having to re-enter location information.

Trip progress can be observed in two places. Riders and family members can follow the journey on the map inside the Life360 app, where the ongoing trip is shown alongside the real-time locations of other family members. Alternatively, live updates and arrival visibility are also available in the Uber app.

The combined functionality pairs Uber Family's ride platform with Life360's location-sharing capabilities. The feature is positioned to help families manage transportation needs for teens and other relatives, enabling parents to request rides directly to the precise, real-time location of a family member and monitor the trip alongside existing family-location data.

Uber teen accounts, a capability introduced in 2023, are highlighted in the partnership description. Those teen accounts have completed tens of millions of trips across more than 50 countries, and are designed to allow riders aged 13-17 to request rides with parental oversight and safety tools such as trip tracking and real-time notifications. For trips requested by teen account holders, only drivers who meet high ratings and experience thresholds and who have undergone safety screening are permitted to accept those requests.

Life360 framed the collaboration as part of its broader effort to evolve into a platform for families that integrates external services into its app experience. The integration is built to function on both iOS and Android devices, reflecting cross-platform compatibility.

The new Uber integration became available to Life360 members in select markets on June 18, 2026. The company described the rollout as a live expansion of the partnership, but did not detail a broader availability timetable.

  • Adoption depends in part on reliance on Uber teen-account safety measures and parental supervision features to maintain user trust.
