Colombian equities ended Wednesday's session with a modest uptick, as strength in Industrials, Services and Agriculture stocks offset losses elsewhere.
At the market close, the benchmark COLCAP was up 0.25%.
The session's strongest performer on the COLCAP was Mineros SA (BVC:MINEROS), which gained 7.23%, adding 1,120.00 points to finish at 16,620.00. Bolsa De Valores De Colombia (BVC:BVC) also advanced, rising 2.46% or 380.00 points to close at 15,800.00. Grupo Nutresa SA (BVC:NUTRESA) ended the day higher by 0.85%, up 2,580.00 points to 307,900.00 in late trade.
On the downside, Ecopetrol SA (BVC:ECOPETROL) registered the largest decline, slipping 5.74% or 165.00 points to settle at 2,710.00. Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana SA (BVC:GRUPOSURA) fell 3.38%, down 1,960.00 points to end at 56,020.00, while Organizacion Terpel SA (BVC:TERPEL) dropped 2.58%, a loss of 500.00 points, closing at 18,880.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombia Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Commodity contracts traded with mixed outcomes. US coffee C for September delivery decreased 0.16% - a decline of 0.45 - to $272.35. US cocoa for September delivery fell 0.71%, down 30.00 to $4,204.00. The August Gold Futures contract declined 1.80%, losing 78.20 to trade at $4,276.20 a troy ounce.
Currency pairs related to the Colombian peso were unchanged in reported levels: USD/COP was unchanged at 3,458.92 (0.00%), and BRL/COP was unchanged at 676.50 (0.00%).
Macro-market measures showed upward movement for the dollar: the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.90% to 100.17 at the time reported.
