Separately, the company has notified Irish authorities of proposed collective redundancies. Local reports indicate the planned reductions in Ireland total 164 roles - a figure that represents close to 12% of PayPal's 1,380 full-time employees in that country.

When asked to comment, a PayPal spokesperson framed the staffing changes as part of an earlier-announced, multi-year transformation. The spokesperson said the aim is to simplify the company's global operations, strengthen execution, and better position the company for long-term growth. The representative added that decisions of this kind are difficult, acknowledged the impact on employees, and said PayPal is committed to supporting those affected during the transition.
