What to watch next

Market participants may focus on further volatility readings and commodity price action, as these could influence sector momentum across the Moscow exchange in upcoming sessions.

Risks

  • Elevated implied volatility - The RVI's 19.08% jump to 20.66 indicates rising market uncertainty which can amplify price swings across sectors such as Mining, Power and Manufacturing.
  • Concentration of sector losses - Continued downward pressure in Mining, Power and Manufacturing could deepen market weakness and weigh on related commodity-linked equities.
  • Significant single-stock moves - Extreme moves in individual names, such as AK ALROSA hitting five-year lows and Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank surging, may increase idiosyncratic risk for portfolios with concentrated exposures to these names.
