General Dynamics Corporation (NYSE:GD) has been awarded three U.S. Navy contracts amounting to approximately $273.45 million, according to an announcement from the Department of War Monday.

The largest award was granted to General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia. That award is a $183.23 million firm-fixed-price contract to conduct maintenance, modernization, and repair work on USS Truxtun (DDG 103) during its Fiscal 2026 Depot Modernization Period. The contract contains options that, if exercised, would raise the total value to $183.58 million. The work is scheduled to be carried out in Norfolk, Virginia, with an expected completion date of April 2028.

Funding for the NASSCO-Norfolk award is predominantly supplied by fiscal 2026 other procurement Navy funds totaling $172.22 million, which represents 94% of the contract value. Additional funds for the contract include $10.98 million from fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance Navy funds, $593,427 from fiscal 2025 other procurement Navy funds, and $31,742 from defense-wide procurement funds. The award was competitively solicited through the System for Award website and attracted two offers. Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. is listed as the contracting activity for this work.

Separately, General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. in Groton, Connecticut, received two contract modifications related to maintenance support at Naval Submarine Support Facility New London. The first modification is a $55.55 million cost-plus-fixed-fee action to continue support under the New England Maintenance Manpower Initiative for non-nuclear maintenance of submarines based at the facility. The second modification is a $34.68 million cost-plus-fixed-fee action to continue support for the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department at the same facility.

Both Electric Boat modifications will be executed in Groton, Connecticut, with both pieces of work expected to be completed by April 2027. At the time of award, each modification will receive $20 million in fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance Navy funds. Those O&M funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

  • Schedule risk - stated completion dates (April 2027 and April 2028) are projected timelines and could be affected by execution issues or unforeseen delays.
