Boeing (NYSE:BA) shares rose about 1% after the planemaker reported handing over 143 commercial aircraft in the fourth quarter. The company provided a breakdown by model and disclosed 30 deliveries from its Defense, Space & Security division, while noting delivery counts are not final until quarterly financial statements are released.

Key Points

  • Boeing reported 143 commercial aircraft deliveries in the fourth quarter, consisting of 114 737s, 15 787s, eight 777s and six 767s.
  • The Defense, Space & Security division delivered 30 units, including Apache and Chinook helicopters, KC-46 tankers, F/A-18 and F-15 models, MH-139 helicopters, a P-8 aircraft, and one commercial/civil satellite.
  • Delivery totals include new-build production, remanufactures and modifications; the company stated these figures are not final until quarterly financial results are released.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) stock moved higher, advancing roughly 1% after the company published its fourth quarter delivery tallies showing 143 commercial aircraft were handed over during the period.

The firm reported the commercial fleet deliveries consisted of 114 Boeing 737 jets, 15 Boeing 787 airplanes, eight Boeing 777 aircraft, and six Boeing 767 models. Boeing said these delivery totals encompass new-build production units as well as remanufactures and modifications.

On the defense side, Boeing's Defense, Space & Security division recorded 30 deliveries in the quarter. The defense delivery breakdown included 17 AH-64 Apache helicopters - of which two were new aircraft and 15 were remanufactured units - and two CH-47 Chinook helicopters, one of which was new and one renewed.

Additional military aircraft handed over in the quarter were four KC-46 tanker aircraft, two F/A-18 models, two MH-139 helicopters, one F-15 model, and one P-8 aircraft. The defense division also listed delivery of one commercial or civil satellite during the period.

Boeing emphasized that the delivery figures it released are not considered final until the company issues its quarterly financial results.

Context and market reaction

The published delivery numbers prompted a modest positive reaction in the stock market, with shares up about 1% on the news. The company’s statement made clear that totals include both factory-new aircraft and units completed through remanufacture or modification efforts, and that official confirmation awaits the formal quarterly filings.

What the figures show

  • Commercial deliveries: 143 units, split into 114 737s, 15 787s, eight 777s and six 767s.
  • Defense, Space & Security deliveries: 30 units, including a mix of helicopters, tanker and fighter aircraft, plus one commercial/civil satellite.
  • Remanufactures and modifications are included in the delivery totals alongside new production units.

Boeing’s notice that delivery information remains provisional until quarterly financial results are published highlights a potential for later revision to the numbers reported today.

Risks

  • Delivery figures are provisional until Boeing issues its quarterly financial results, meaning published totals could be revised - this affects market and investor interpretation (impacts aerospace and capital markets).
  • The inclusion of remanufactures and modifications alongside new-build aircraft makes it less clear how many units reflect fresh factory production versus refurbished or altered aircraft, which can affect assessments of production output and supply dynamics (impacts manufacturing and supply chain analysis).
