SmartFinancial, Inc. is a holding company, which engages in the provision of commercial banking services through SmartBank. It operates through the following portfolio segments: Commercial Real Estate-Non-Owner Occupied, Consumer Real Estate-Owner Occupied, Construction & Land Development, Commercial & Industrial, Leases, and Consumer and Other. The Commercial Real Estate-Non-Owner Occupied segment includes loans for income-producing properties such as apartment buildings, office and industrial buildings, and retail shopping centers are repaid from rent income derived from the properties. The Consumer Real Estate-Owner Occupied segment includes loans to operating businesses are long-term financing of land and buildings where the owner occupies the property. The Consumer Real Estate segment consists of real estate loans such as home equity lines. The Construction & Land Development segment focuses on credit to real estate developers or investors. The Commercial & Industrial segment provides commercial and financial loans. The Leases segment includes leases to small and mid-size companies for equipment financing leases. The Consumer & Other segment provides direct consumer installment loans, overdrafts, and other revolving credit and educational loans. The company was founded on September 19, 1983 and is headquartered in Knoxville, TN.
