At the other end of the index, KGHM Polska Miedz SA recorded the largest drop, sliding 8.19% to 347.05. X Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski SA declined 4.89% to 144.34, while Pepco Group Nv fell 3.51% to close at 40.08.
Notable price milestones were recorded within the session: shares of PGE reached five-year highs at their closing price of 14.21, and PKO finished at an all-time high of 119.44.
Commodities and currencies
Commodity markets showed significant moves during the session. Crude oil for October delivery climbed 4.63%, gaining $4.45 to settle at $100.50 a barrel. Brent oil for November delivery rose 4.73%, up $4.79 to $106.00 a barrel. By contrast, December gold futures fell 1.10%, a decline of $49.05 to $4,411.65 per troy ounce.
