Energy prices were stronger in session: crude oil for October delivery rose 2.29% or 1.91 to $85.31 a barrel, while Brent for December delivery increased 4.92% or 4.24 to $90.36 a barrel. In metals, the December Gold Futures contract slipped 0.89% or 40.41 to trade at $4,489.49 a troy ounce.

On the FX front USD/JPY moved lower by 0.19% to 159.79, and EUR/JPY edged down 0.10% to 185.19. The US Dollar Index Futures was reported down 0.10% at 99.56.
