Risks

  • Sector concentration risk: losses in Electronic Parts/Components and Computers & Peripherals weighed on the index, indicating potential vulnerability in tech-related supply chains or demand - this affects technology and manufacturing sectors.
  • Volatility in individual names: several securities moved by double digits in both directions, underscoring idiosyncratic stock risk within the market - particularly for listed technology and peripheral equipment firms.
  • Commodity and currency fluctuations: declines in crude oil and shifts in USD/TWD and the US Dollar Index Futures introduce uncertainty for energy-linked companies and exporters/importers exposed to currency swings.
