On the downside, OZON (MCX:OZON) was the weakest name in the session, sliding 3.69% or 109.00 points to finish at 2,844.00. Retailer Magnit PJSC (MCX:MGNT) declined 1.02%, down 18.50 points to close at 1,802.50, while AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX:ALRS) slipped 0.96% or 0.20 points to 20.60.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares of Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM) moved to fresh 52-week highs during the session, increasing 3.72% or 0.34 to end at 9.35.

Market volatility, as measured by the Russian Volatility Index - RVI, eased, with the index down 0.95% to 39.47.

Commodity markets were mixed. Gold Futures for December delivery fell 1.29% or 53.60 to $4,107.00 a troy ounce. In energy markets, crude oil for September delivery rose 1.29% or 1.08 to $84.67 a barrel, and the October Brent contract increased 1.22% or 1.09 to trade at $90.12 a barrel.

Currency pairs showed modest moves: USD/RUB was down 0.50% to 79.61, while EUR/RUB also fell 0.50% to 91.77. The US Dollar Index Futures was trading up 0.07% at 99.79.
