This session's market moves highlighted sector-specific weakness in industrial and consumer-exposed companies, alongside mixed signals from commodity and currency markets.

Risks

  • Sector concentration risk - sharp declines in industrial and consumer names could weigh on related portfolios and sectors such as airports and consumer services.
  • Commodity price volatility - swings in oil and gold prices may affect earnings and valuations for energy and metal-related companies.
  • Currency fluctuation - a weaker peso, as reflected in modest rises in USD/MXN and EUR/MXN, can impact multinational earnings and import-dependent sectors.
