In energy markets, crude oil for October settlement climbed 2.46% or $2.08 to $86.47 a barrel, while the October Brent contract increased 2.07% or $1.90 to $93.52 a barrel.

On currency markets, USD/TRY was up 0.06% to 47.95, and EUR/TRY rose 0.30% to 56.17. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03%, trading at 98.70.
