Shares of Beta Bionics Inc (NASDAQ:BBNX) rose 2.2% Monday after the company announced U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance for its Mint patch pump, while simultaneously trimming its 2026 revenue forecast.
The Irvine, California-based diabetes device maker said Mint is a patch pump that uses a two-piece architecture combining reusable and disposable components. The device integrates with continuous glucose monitors and supports smartphone control on both iOS and Android platforms. Beta Bionics signaled that it now expects full U.S. commercialization of Mint in the first quarter of 2027, moving that commercialization timeline earlier than its prior target.
In addition to the Mint clearance, Beta Bionics submitted its 3D Intelligence insulin dosing algorithm to the FDA via a 510(k) application. The company said it expects to commercialize the algorithm as iLet 3D by the end of 2026, and to offer it as Mint 3D at the time of Mint's full launch, provided the FDA grants clearance.
At the same time, Beta Bionics narrowed its revenue guidance for full-year 2026 to a range of $121 million to $126 million, down from the prior $131 million to $136 million outlook. The company attributed the reduction to a possible revenue deferral effect of up to $10 million in the fourth quarter of 2026, as potential iLet customers may delay purchases to await the Mint launch.
On manufacturing, Beta Bionics said capacity in 2027 should be sufficient to produce at least 1.5 million disposable Mint units. The company intends to distribute Mint exclusively through the pharmacy channel and estimates that roughly 40% of insured U.S. lives will have access at launch, rising to at least 50% within the first year.
Product details highlight that Mint offers three days of wear time with a 12-hour grace period, a 200-unit insulin reservoir, and waterproof capabilities. The device is compatible with Dexcom G7, Dexcom G7 15 Day, and Abbott's FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus continuous glucose monitoring systems.
Beta Bionics said it maintains its full-year 2026 gross margin projection of 58.5% to 59.5%. The company expects that Mint will be modestly dilutive to full-year 2027 gross margin, but believes the product will be highly accretive to its long-term gross margin profile once scaled.
