Scope: This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through our Platform, including information collected online, through our mobile applications, via email, or through any other means. This policy does not apply to information collected by third-party websites, services, or applications that you may access through our Platform.

5.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Platform, conducting our business, and serving our users. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify:

  • Payment Processing: Stripe processes payments and handles billing. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant and does not share your payment information with us beyond what is necessary for transaction processing.
  • AI Services: OpenAI processes data to generate AI-powered insights, analysis, and content. We have data processing agreements in place with OpenAI that require appropriate safeguards for your data.
  • Market Data Providers: We use Polygon.io, Finnhub, and Alpha Vantage for market data. We do not share your personal information with these providers; they provide us with publicly available market data only.
  • Email Services: We use SMTP email services to send transactional and marketing emails. Email providers process email delivery but do not use your information for their own purposes.
  • Hosting and Infrastructure: Our servers and databases are hosted by third-party cloud providers who maintain appropriate security measures.
  • Analytics Providers: We may use analytics services to understand Platform usage and performance. These services may collect anonymized usage data.
  • Chart Services: TradingView provides chart widgets embedded in our Platform. TradingView may collect usage data related to chart interactions.

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, including:

  • Regulatory compliance requirements

Do Not Track: Our Platform does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals from browsers. However, you can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Sensitive data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL and at rest where appropriate.

Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Please use a strong, unique password and do not share your account information with others.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

  • Account Data: We retain your account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period after account closure (typically 30-90 days) to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
  • Transaction Records: Payment and subscription records are retained as required by law (typically 7 years for tax and accounting purposes).
  • Usage Data: Analytics and usage data may be retained in aggregated, anonymized form indefinitely for business analysis purposes.
  • Logs: Server logs and security logs are typically retained for 90 days to 1 year, depending on the type of log and legal requirements.
  • User Content: Portfolio data, watchlists, and other user-generated content are retained until you delete them or close your account.

Deletion: Upon account closure or upon your request (subject to legal requirements), we will delete or anonymize your personal information. Some information may be retained if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal disputes).

Legal Holds: We may retain information beyond our normal retention period if required by law, court order, or ongoing legal proceedings.

Response Time: We will respond to your request within 30-45 days, depending on the complexity of the request and applicable law. If we need more time, we will notify you.

No Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. However, certain features may require personal information to function, and we may not be able to provide services if you request deletion of necessary information.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

We Do Not Sell Personal Information: TradeVae does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration.

We share personal information with third-party service providers as described in Section 5.1, but these arrangements are for business purposes (service provision) and do not constitute "sales" under CCPA.

If our practices change in the future and we begin selling personal information, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide you with an opt-out mechanism.

13. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 years of age.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@tradevae.com. We will delete such information promptly upon verification.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible, in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Transactional vs. Marketing: We send two types of emails:

Please note that opting out of marketing communications does not affect transactional emails necessary for account management.

Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or applications that are not owned or controlled by TradeVae. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

Third-Party Services Integrated in Our Platform:

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of any material changes by:
